Estimators manage the cost estimate process by reading and interpreting all design requests, design packages, prints and specifications pertaining to project and define the scope of the project. They compile costs for all materials, labor, detailing, graphics; subcontractors, shipping costs, travel expenses, and site expenses to create the required proposal amount. This is a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative work environment, providing opportunities to work with great brands Responsibilities: Evaluates product specifications and works with Design, Detailing and Production departments, to provide guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, and subcontract requirements. Manages the cost estimate process for various product lines. Acquire bids from subcontractors and negotiate final subcontractor’s price. Works with appropriate personnel to complete a project cost review at the end of each project. Maintains an understanding of current trends in the exhibit industry and museum environment, including fabrication techniques, setup methods, design elements, exhibit construction methods, rates, and competitive pricing models. Continually works to improve the estimation process in relation to the company’s overall margin goals. Travels to project sites or industry events as required.
