Country : Qatar Description : DIETITIAN DUTIES: Dietitians and nutritionists typically do the following: • Assess patients’ and clients’ health needs and diet • Counsel patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits • Provide clinical dietitian protocol for pediatrics,obstetrics,diabetic and elderly patients • Develop meal plans, taking both cost and clients’ preferences into account • Evaluate the effects of meal plans and change the plans as needed • Promote better nutrition by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases • Keep up with the latest nutritional science research • Write reports to document patient progress to assess therapy outcomes Dietitians and nutritionists evaluate the health of their clients. Based on their findings, dietitians and nutritionists advise clients on which foods to eat—and those foods to avoid—to improve their health. Dietitian Skills Required In order to be a good, effective Registered Dietitian, one should possess the following skills: • Good decision making and judgment capabilities • The ability to instruct others • The ability to identify and solve complex problems • Being socially perceptive; that is, aware of the reactions of others and understanding those reactions • Good reading comprehension skills • Good coordination skills and the ability to adjust one’s actions in relation to others’ actions • Effective logic, reasoning and critical thinking skills • Effective writing skills • Effective speaking skills • Active listening skills Requirement/s: • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from a recognised university. • At least 2 years experience in relevant sub specialty • Language: Arabic and English
