English Language Arts Teacher Level: Junior High & High School Number of Teachers Required: 3 Job Summary BLYTH ACADEMY is looking for motivated English Language and Arts for the academic session Responsibilities and Duties Prepare daily and long-term lesson plans in accordance with curriculum guidelines. Providing assessment information, report grades and feedback for learning as required by the assessment and reporting schedule. Empower the students to prepare for international assessments. Build strong foundation for any academic stream in the student’s educational and professional career. Have core belief of concept clarity and diligent practice. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development. Discuss students’ progress and concerns with Parents / Principal. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area. Work with others to plan and coordinate work. Keep up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum. Organize and take part in school events, outings and activities which may take place in the school. Encourage students to learn new things and participate in extra curricular activities. Use computers to assist with lesson preparation, teaching and reporting. Qualifications and Skills Undergraduate degree in English Language and Arts Must have completed a degree program in Education Should have a passion and commitment to Teach Teacher Certification from the Province of Alberta, Canada Preferred Any educational certifications from Canada and prior teaching experience is a plus IB experience is a plus
